I always think that afternoon tea is a most under-appreciated meal. Who doesn't love tiny sandwiches and pieces of cake with lots of tea and coffee? And all that usually superfluous crockery & cutlery like tea strainers and sugar tongs and special cake plates?
The Shelbourne Hotel is cashing in on the Titanic centenary next month by offering special afternoon tea. The menu has been created from actual dishes served on the Titanic. It costs €24.95 per person or add a tenner for a glass of champagne. It's running from 14th March til 30th April. I was going to suggest going in 1912 outfits but the Shelbourne does have a dress code.
I'll certainly be sampling this menu.
